# Itsappy Lab

> Itsappy Lab is a virtual office for distributed teams. Instead of showing who
> is online as a green dot, it gives the team a floor to walk around: presence
> is a position, voices fall off with distance, and starting a conversation
> means walking over rather than sending a link. Chat, tasks, projects,
> meetings, calendar, files and documents live in the same workspace.

Itsappy Lab is made by Itsappy. It runs in any modern browser and on iPhone and
iPad, against the same workspace. There is no Android build yet.

Two things are commonly asked and are worth stating plainly, because both are
easy to assume wrongly:

- **It is not an instant free trial.** Every account belongs to a workspace.
  Asking for a new workspace goes to a platform administrator for review;
  asking to join an existing one goes to that workspace's owner. You sign in
  once a human has approved it.
- **No pricing is published** at the time of writing, and Itsappy Lab does not
  claim any named customers. Screenshots on the site are captures of a demo
  workspace, not of a real company.

## What makes it different

- [The floor and proximity audio](https://lab.itsappy.com/#floor): Voices are at full volume up close, fade smoothly with distance, and are silent past roughly three desks away. A focus pod seals in both directions -- the floor cannot hear you and you cannot hear it, though two people inside the same pod always hear each other. The all-hands stage is the one exception to the geometry: someone standing on it reaches the whole floor at full volume, through walls and at any distance. There is also a walkie-talkie for addressing a whole room at once. AI agents walk the floor alongside people, and floors are laid out by the team itself -- desks, rooms, pods and furniture, drawn in 2.5D.

Mentions of a person or of @here and @channel with a picker as you type; pinned messages; forwarding; photos, videos, files and voice notes; link previews that expand in place; polls; any-emoji reactions; replies; read receipts; stories. Message translation is available once a workspace turns it on.
- [Tasks and projects](https://lab.itsappy.com/#tasks): Projects run backlog to done with priorities, due dates, assignees, checklists, comments and attachments. A personal view collects everything assigned to you and calls out overdue work. Also: automations for recurring team moves, turning a message into a task without leaving the conversation, milestones, subtasks, recurrence, and custom fields per project.
- [Meetings and calendar](https://lab.itsappy.com/#meetings): Scheduled meetings and one-to-one calls with screen sharing. Guests join by link without an account. One month view carries meetings, task due dates and reminders together, and reminders arrive in the right timezone -- including yours when you travel.
- [Files, documents and the rest of the day](https://lab.itsappy.com/#day): PDFs, images and documents open inside the app. Docs, sheets and slides are written together, commented on, and shared with chosen people. Everyone's local time sits on the workspace. A company surface carries announcements, leave, the handbook and the org chart. Shared whiteboards attach to the space they happened in. Streaks, Appys given to colleagues who helped you, focus sessions that quiet notifications, and a daily digest. Team games.
